SHTML What Does It Mean?

It is not an abbreviation for sheet metal. But when a Web page address has an ending of .shtml instead of .htm or .html, that page has "server side includes" or "ssi" incorporated in it. These are special tags that	cause the server to automatically perform special operations. A simple example is a server that puts the current date and up-to-the-second time on such a Web page.
