Basic Wiring Checks
Before we can assume our house wiring is correct, let’s get a basic wiring check out of the way:
- Are all outlets 3 prong, grounded?
- Often old buildings rewired by owners may not be
“up to code”. Are they really grounded?
- Even in new buildings all outlets may not be wired
properly (Installer interrupted, never got back to it.)
- Use line tester to determine status of wiring
- Check all outlets where equipment is plugged in
